Terms of Service

Effective: 12 April 2026 · Last updated: 13 April 2026

01 — Who runs this

dummy.tools is operated by Marco Land, a freelancer based in Berlin, Germany, reachable at [email protected]. When these terms say "we", "us", or "our", that's who we're referring to.

By using dummy.tools — whether you create an account or not — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

02 — What dummy.tools is

dummy.tools is an online 3D mockup generator. You upload your artwork — a book cover, a poster, a vinyl sleeve — and the platform renders a realistic 3D preview you can spin, animate, and export as an image, a video, or a 3D model (GLB). It's built for designers, authors, musicians, and creators who want polished promo content without a studio shoot.

The service is provided as-is. We do our best to keep it running smoothly, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted availability.

03 — Accounts & access

Using the editor requires creating an account with a valid email address. The free tier covers the full editor — all asset types, animations, and advanced modes — so you can fully test the tool before purchasing. Paid plans unlock saving, sharing, and exports (image, video, and 3D model).

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for anything that happens under your account. If something looks wrong, let us know.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

04 — Your uploads

You own your content. When you upload images or PDFs to dummy.tools, you keep full ownership. We don't claim any rights over your artwork.

By uploading, you confirm that you have the right to use that content — meaning you created it, licensed it, or have permission to use it. You agree not to upload anything that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights.

We store your uploads to power the 3D rendering and export features. We don't use your artwork for anything else without your permission.

Your uploaded files are stored with Supabase and kept as long as your account is active. Deleting a project removes its uploaded images.

We may feature selected mockups in a public community gallery to showcase what dummy.tools can do. By using the service, you grant us permission to display your exported mockups in this gallery as illustrative examples.

We'll always present them as dummy.tools demos — we'll never claim your work as our own, and we'll never use your underlying artwork for anything beyond showcasing the platform.

If you'd prefer your work not to appear in the gallery, just let us know at [email protected] and we'll remove it.

06 — Acceptable use

dummy.tools is for creating legitimate creative mockups. You agree not to upload or generate content that is:

  • Illegal or harmful — content that violates any applicable law, promotes violence, or facilitates illegal activity.
  • Infringing — artwork or images you don't have the rights to use.
  • Deceptive — mockups designed to mislead consumers or impersonate brands you don't represent.
  • Abusive — content that is hateful, harassing, or discriminatory.
  • Circumventing the paywall — using screen recording, screenshots, or any other method to capture the 3D viewer output in order to bypass the export feature's paid requirement.

Free-tier usage is permitted for evaluation and testing only. Using any output from the free tier — whether for personal, client, or commercial purposes — is not permitted. Any use of the material requires a paid plan. This is a terms-of-service requirement — we trust you to honour it.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these rules and to terminate accounts in serious cases.

07 — Pricing, payments & licensing

dummy.tools is sold as an annual license. Each license grants access for 12 months from the date of purchase and does not auto-renew. When it expires, it's up to you whether to buy another — there are no subscriptions and no recurring charges.

Current tiers and pricing are listed on our licensing page.

What your license includes

  • Access to the features in your tier for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • All updates released during your license period at no extra cost — new asset types, features, and improvements are included while your license is active.
  • When your license expires, paid features stop working until you purchase a new license. Your account, saved projects, and uploaded files remain intact, and you can keep using the free editor without a license.

How payments work

Payments are processed by Paddle. By purchasing, you also agree to Paddle's terms. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record, handling payments, tax, and invoicing on our behalf. We never see or store your full card details.

Each license is a single, up-front charge for a 12-month term — no stored payment method, no auto-renewal, no surprise billing. To continue after 12 months, you purchase a new license.

Refund policy

You can request a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, for any reason. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we'll process the refund through Paddle.

Refunds are processed by Paddle in accordance with their refund policy.

Agency / business licenses

Enterprise licenses are priced per seat and arranged directly. Contact us at [email protected] for a quote based on your team size and requirements.

08 — Export & your hardware

The export feature is available on paid plans only. Using screen recording software, browser screenshots, or any other method to capture the viewer output as a substitute for the export feature is not permitted.

Exports on dummy.tools (image, video, and 3D model / GLB) happen entirely in your browser, directly from the 3D canvas on your device. We don't process your export on our servers — your machine does the work.

This means export performance depends on your hardware. A powerful GPU and a modern browser will give you fast, smooth exports. Older or lower-spec machines may be slower, and very high resolutions (like 4K) can be demanding even on good hardware.

Try before you buy. Because the full editor — including all asset types, animations, and advanced modes — is free to use, you can test the 3D rendering on your device before purchasing export access. We strongly recommend doing this. If the preview runs smoothly, the export will too.

If you're not happy with your purchase for any reason, you can request a refund within 14 days — see section 07.

09 — Data & privacy (GDPR)

We're based in Germany and handle your data in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect: your email address and authentication details when you create an account; files you upload (images, PDFs); billing data you enter at checkout (handled by Paddle); anonymous usage data.

Where it's stored:

  • Application and database hosting: Hetzner Online GmbH, Frankfurt, Germany (EU).
  • Authentication, database, and uploaded files: Supabase, with data held in Ireland (EU).
  • Payments: Paddle, as Merchant of Record.
  • Analytics: Plausible, self-hosted on our own Hetzner infrastructure.

What we don't do: we don't sell your data to anyone, we don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use your artwork for anything beyond running the service.

Your rights: under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. Email [email protected] to exercise those rights.

The full Privacy Policy is the authoritative document on data handling.

10 — Liability

dummy.tools is provided in good faith by a solo operator. We make no warranties beyond what's legally required. In particular, we don't guarantee that the service will always be available, error-free, or suitable for any specific purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from use of dummy.tools is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by our negligence — as required by EU consumer law.

11 — Changes to these terms

We'll update these terms from time to time as the product evolves. When we make significant changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, if you have an account, notify you by email.

Continuing to use dummy.tools after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

12 — Contact

Got a question about these terms, a data request, or anything else? We read every email.
